Memorial Day Weekend!

I worked during Memorial Day Weekend, but Dan was lucky enough to head to the lakes and spend a little time with his side of the family. Most importantly... spend time with our niece and nephew! GAHHHH! They are so dang cute I can't get over it! Dan's brother got a brand new boat so of course most of the time he was there it was spent on the water. Yes, I am way jealous!

Elliott chillin' on the boat!

Concentrating on driving... it's serious business!

All aboard!!!

WOOHOO!

Mallory knows that ice cream breaks are very important... she takes after me!

Goodness... I miss spending time here! Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend! Even though I wasn't with my immediate family... I was at the next best place... with my residents :)

Mileage Monday

Running stats for the week of May 19th - May 25th... I can't even begin to tell you how overwhelming my life has become. Not only have I started a new job, but the place I'm working is starting from the ground up. There is SO much to get done! I'm struggling to get a grasp on working in health care plus trying to learn what is expected of me in this new position. I'm use to working a lot, but feeling like I have no clue what I'm doing is really stressing me out. On top of that, I'm so behind on my project that I'm doing to finish up my Masters degree it's not even funny. Uhhhgggg! So, because of that running and exercising has become a foreign language to me. The only thing I have made sure to try and do is to make sure Remi is getting outside in the fresh air and walking as much as my schedule will allow. Obviously his health and happiness is the most important thing ;)

CrossFit Monday

CrossFit WOD's for the week of May 12th - May 18th... This week put a damper on any running plans I had with the cold rainy weather we had. BRRRR! When is it going to get warm and stay warm? The change in temperatures irritated my knees and I spent most days and nights with them aching horribly. So instead of running, I focused on easy CrossFit WOD's that I could do at home. Kind of boring and not too challenging, but it seemed to work out well since my schedule was insane and I would not have had much time to get a run in. I sure am ready for summer to arrive!

30 Before 30 - Find a Church to Attend

This past weekend Dan and I attended Emmanuel Church of Greenwood. Several of our friends had recommended it to us, plus it is super close to our house so we figured we would check it out. It's a very big church compared to what we are use to, but we really liked it a lot.

Dan said this is the first service that he actually listened to most of the sermon! WHOA! I think we have a winner. We will probably try to go as much as Dan and I's schedule permits. Hopefully we will be able to call it our home church at some point in the future.

Time to check "find a church to attend" off my 30 Before 30 List!

Mileage Monday

Running stats for the week of May 5th - May 11th... During all three of my runs this week I felt pretty good. The first two I had a slight pain in my left knee and then my last one I had slight/moderate pain in my right knee. I'm still taking things extremely slow and making sure I don't do anything crazy to flare it up again. I'm making sure that part of my routine is to take the time to cool down, stretch, and ice. It is time consuming, but something that keeps my legs feeling good. This upcoming week I plan to stick to my 2 mile runs and maybe throw a 3 miler in there if I'm feeling pain free. Slowly but surely I'm working myself back up to where I was!!

Remington's Rundown

Hey Doodle Lovers! It's Remington Bear here!

I was on a run with Mom the other night and a neighborhood dog attacked me!

Mom and I were so scared when the dog started to chase me around and try to bite me! It was even more scary because the dog's owner took forever to come help us and get their dog off me.

Luckily, after Mom got me home and checked me over really well she discovered that I wasn't hurt, just covered in slobber!! YUCK!

Mom did call the non emergency line and had an officer come to our house to do a report. The officer took all our information and then was going over to the neighbor's house to have a little chat with the owner about their dog and the responsibilities of being a good dog owner.

I'm just glad I'm back home with Mom and Dad... safe and sound!

I know that Mom and Dad are worried about how I will react next time I come into contact with another dog. They have heard different stories about how a dog attack can ruin a dog forever. I don't think that will be the case with me, but I'll see how I feel during my Therapy Dog visit tonight. I know Mom will be watching me very closely.

Time to sign off... WIGGLES!

30 Before 30 - Organize my Entire House

I had four days off between my old job and my new job. During that time I had two things that I wanted to get accomplished... clean and organize my entire house and plant flowers for the summer. I bought the flowers, but didn't get them planted... BOO! But I did get my house cleaned and organized... HORRAY!

The flowers are hanging out on my porch for now... they will be planted this weekend.

Now, back to the house. Dan and I went through almost every drawer, closet, cabinet, etc. in the house and cleaned, purged, and organized... PHEW! It took us almost three full days and our house isn't even that big! Yikes! However, it feels soooooo good to have it all finished and I can finally check it off my to do list.

All together we got rid of 7 huge trash bags, plus some other miscellaneous things here and there! Halleluiah!

Time to check "organize the entire house" off my 30 Before 30 List!

Mileage Monday

Running stats for the week of April 28th - May 4th... This time last year I was running my first ever Half Marathon. This year... times have changed and I'm slowly getting back into running after an injury that put me out of commission for the past three months. I'm officially back at square one and I'm VERY slowly working my way back into it.

This week I focused on just doing one mile per run. I had slight pain in my left knee, but for the most part I felt pretty good. Remi came with me for many of my runs. I knew if he was with me I would take it slow and make sure not to over do it. I also figured maybe we could work our way up together. I absolutely enjoyed having him as my running partner :)
