Mileage Monday on a Friday

Hey All! I know I kind of stopped posting my running mileage weekly... mostly because I wasn't running much anymore. But at the beginning of the year I made a goal to get back into shape and lose this baby weight I STILL have been carrying around... all 15-20 lbs of it! Seems crazy that after almost 2 years I haven't lost it all but it is what it is I suppose. I've been trying to run 2-3 times a week and do some strength training in between. I also put myself on a strict 1200 calorie diet plan and have started seeing results from it at well. It is a bit depressing not being able to eat what I want to, but very satisfying to see the pounds drop off. The amazing weather we have had this winter has also help me tremendously to stay on track!

Below are my runs from the last few months. I have really taken it easy (notice the slow times) just because I still have knee pain from time to time and I don't want to deal with that all over again. But I'm beyond happy to be up to over 4 miles by the end of February! My goal right now is to run the Geist Half Marathon in May if I don't experience any set backs!



































As for my weight loss! I'm so excited that after 3 weeks of sticking with this strict calorie intake I'm down 7 pounds! I was hoping that I could lose weight by just working out more, but that had little to no affect and I knew that I was going to have to change my diet to see some results. The first week of it was brutal... but now I have a good idea what I can and cannot eat and I don't crave all the "fun" stuff I use to. I am SUPER proud of myself. My goal weight is 115 lbs by R-man's second birthday! That gives me a little over 3 months. My perfect weight would be 110 lbs... but that might be pushing it a tad ;)

I can't believe February is almost over and we are heading into March soon! The winter has flown by!
