If You Haven't Already Heard... I'm Pregnant!

So like I said in my previous post... I've been on a roller coaster ride these past few months with different things taking place in my life. The first thing I would like to share with you (if you haven't already heard) is that I'm pregnant!

After trying for a very long period of time the doctors suggested that Dan and I have our fertility tested. Unfortunately, we were soon informed that it probably wouldn't be easy for us to have a baby. Dan and I started racking our brains on what the next step for us should be, but ended up quite surprised when just a few weeks later we found out we were pregnant! 

I did not have an easy first trimester... I was sick almost all day and even during the night (which I didn't even know was possible). But now being a little over 16 weeks pregnant I am finally feeling more like myself. Thank goodness for that!

So far everything is progressing just fine. The doctors say that the baby is looking healthy and things are looking completely normal. I have gained about five pounds so far and my cravings right now are salads and cereal. HA! Now that things are getting back to normal for the most part around our household Dan and I have been slowly organizing the house and trying to figure out how we are going to fit this little soul and all its "things" in our home. We definitely are struggling with a bit of a learning curve right now, but I suppose we will learn as we go. 

Everyone is very excited around here! Especially Remi who had his own way of telling people he was taking on a new role soon! Of course Remi and how I will adjust him to this huge change is one of my number one priorities... He is an extremely special part of our family and I want to keep it that way.

It's Been Rough...

Do you ever get to that point in your life when it is like EVERYTHING imaginable starts to pile up on you all at once. You try and try to keep up with all the demands that are facing you, with a huge smile on your face of course, and then suddenly right before your eyes the demands disappear and you're at the point where you are sitting there wondering... what now?

That is how these past few months have been for me. It seemed like at one point I was asking myself how I was going to make it through everything that had appeared on my plate and today I'm a little shocked they are no longer there.

So as I slowly get myself accustomed to blogging again like I use to (I'm sorry I fell off the face of the blogging world recently)... I hope to fill you in on what has been happening these past couple months which took so much of my energy and attention that you may have asked yourself what happened to me. It's been rough... a roller coaster of emotions... from shock, to happiness, to sadness, and everything in between... and I'll fill you in on everything in the posts to come.

I really had high hopes of making it through the end of this year and then throwing in the towel, but I got so far behind with all the other stuff going on that I don't think I can catch up at this point.

Running stats for the November 3rd - November 16th... Folks, life has been hectic and one of the things that has really suffered is this blog. I always said that no matter what I would keep up with my blogging because I love it so much, but the past couple of months just haven't allowed me to do so. Work is crazy as usual... I work usually two 12+ hour days a week and sometimes the weekends. I'm also almost at the end of my Master Program... I have exactly three weeks before I present my capstone project and then I will be finished with school forever so I am scrambling to get things done. And... if that wasn't enough... the woman who played a huge part in raising me, my Grandma, is not well at all. Her health is failing and she is having to be placed in a nursing home. It has been heartbreaking for me to think about, but also equally as hard to watch my parents struggle with the hard decisions they are having to make and me be too far away to really help them in any way. Life has been a whirlwind to say the least, and I'm just waiting for the ups and downs of the roller coaster ride to level out.

Running stats for the week of October 27th - November 2nd... Well it was another pitiful week of not running. I'm sure I'm going to regret not keeping up with it since I will start losing the endurance I had built up. Plus, not running makes me feel like a fat cow. Ekkkk! The change in temperatures and the end of daylight savings time sure doesn't help things either. There really just isn't anything good about winter time. The one thing I do have going for me is the huge amount of walking I'm doing 5-7 days a week. Now that keeps me somewhat in shape!

Running stats for the week of October 6th - October 12th... I have felt absolutely exhausted this week so once again I didn't do any working out. I was also on vacation so my step count is way lower than normal since I spent a ton of time just laying around and resting. I seriously got nothing done this week beside sleep. I'm a little concerned I have lost some of my endurance, but it is what it is. I did do pretty decent on my water intake and I had zero coffee this week, which was torture, but I did it.

I made it through, but boy am I so thankful my reign is over with. Now I just have two days this week and then I'm off on my own mini vacation for seven days! WOOHOO! So as you can probably guess I didn't do so well on my running and I drank Starbucks and pop like it was my lifeline. Oops! Hey I had to have something to keep my going. I ate bad... and I didn't get my steps in. YIKES! My supervisor was heading off on vacation so I was trying hard to soak in every possible tip and trick from her before she left.
