Charity Miles

I recently started using this "new to me" app called Charity Miles. Anyone out there heard of it? Pretty much you download the app, register, choose a charity, press start, then run. The app tracks your distance and the money you earn for the charity or your choice! Way cool huh?

Bikers earn 10 cents per mile and walkers and runners earn 25 cents per mile!

Here are some of the charities they support!

One of the things I don't like about the app is the limited number of charities you can choose from... BLEH! Also, some people say that the accuracy of how many miles you run/walk/bike is not correct. I haven't had any problems with this. I also don't like the fact that it only works with runs outside... anything you do on a treadmill doesn't count since GPS isn't involved.

However, overall I really enjoy this app. Not only does it encourage me to run/walk, but I also feel like I'm able to give back a little each time I do. It's a good feeling :) A few improvements could be made, but for the most part a great idea!

Remington's Rundown

Hey Doodle Lovers! It's Remington Bear here!

This past weekend was a long weekend for my Mom and Dad!

I love it when I get to have them all to myself!

Here are some snapshots from our weekend together!

Mom finally planted her summer flowers! 245 to be exact! And look my stone is out again for the world to see! I have to make sure everyone knows I live here!

Also, Mom and Dad discovered a new favorite treat! Chocolate covered pomegranates!!! I'm not allowed to have any, but Mom says they are to die for!

Of course Mom and Dad would never leave me out... they got me my favorite summer treats! Fresh strawberries and watermelon! I've been eating that up!

And it can't be Memorial Day without grilling out! These were some of the yummies Mom and Dad had to celebrate!

Hope everyone else out there had a great weekend like we did!

Time to sign off... WIGGLES!

Nashville Day 5 : Bicentennial Park & The Parthenon

One of the best things about the place we stayed was the homemade bread that was delivered to us every morning! Dan and I were obsessed with this stuff!!! YUMMY!

On Thursday we decided it was going to be Remington's day. You know, the kind of day where he gets to go every where with us. These are the most special days for us because the three of us get to spend quality time together. For his day we planned on going to Bicentennial Park and The Parthenon... both outside and dog friendly!

It was a picture perfect day to visit. Sun shining and temperatures mild!

Next stop was the Parthenon!

Of course everywhere we went we had to stop and have petting sessions... Remington is a popular fella!

It was a nice ending to our last day in Nashville.... but we sure had one tired pup when we got back to our cabin...

That's all for our Nashville vacation adventures! Hope you enjoyed reading! Back to your regular scheduled programing for now... Next trip this summer is Arizona!!!

Nashville Day 4 : Sweets and Fish

Sorry I got a little behind on the blogging with the lack of internet service... but I'm here with an update on how the rest of our vacation went.

It rained on and off all day on Wednesday. I had homework due so I worked on that a lot of the day.  I know, boring right.

I told Dan he could pick out something to do since he was starting to feel a little better and I didn’t want his allergies to start up again. He suggested that we go to Opry Land and eat at this Aquarium Restaurant. I agreed even though I was a little unsure about it.

There were all sorts of stores where we went, but of course I was most interested in the ones involving CANDY!

Giant candy equals a happy Kendra!!!

Uhhhhh YUM!

Gigi's Cupcakes!

We even bought Remi special treats from the Mountain Chocolate Company!

As you can see he loved them!

Dan even found a store that had all different kinds of sauces. He was in heaven there.

After walking around for a while we decided to head to the Aquarium Restaurant. Right when I saw it I knew I was going to love it.

Heaven on earth!

The food was a little pricey, but you pay for the experience so I was okay with that :)

I got the salmon.

Dan got the Mariner's Grill!

Desserts!

I must say it was a really neat place and I would definitely go back again. We need to get one of these in Indy!!

I'll try to play a little bit of catch up tomorrow! See you then!
