Jay County Fair

It's the season of fairs and what kind of Mom would I be if I didn't take R-man to my very own hometown fair! We ate fair food, saw the animals and rode rides! Love my times with this sweet fella!

French fries at the Lion Burger stand!

Momma loves her animals and I hope R-man does too one day!

It was all fun and games before the ride started...

We were a little unsure once it started! But we did okay :)

They say why kids are so great is because you get to see the world again through their eyes. How true this is. I love experiencing the world with Roarke! Wouldn't trade these days with him for anything!

Water Table!

Roarke's B and Ips came to stay with us a few weeks ago. With them they brought all sorts of goodies: Dan's old train set, PJ's, clothes, and a new water table! I had been thinking about different options for some water fun during the hot days of the summer. I think the water table was probably the perfect one since it gives R-man several play options and he can practice his walking while playing! We have had so much fun watching him enjoy it!

Oh my... this little boy is so fun!

Hancock County Library

I'm always looking for things to do on days that are too hot or too rainy to be outside. So one day we decided to venture out to the Hancock County Library. I love the library and always have since I was a little girl and I hope that Roarke does too as he grows up. When we got there I was shocked with how nice it was! It had beautiful sculptures and fish tanks build into the walls! There were special room designed for just the little kids, teens, and adults. I fell in love with it immediately and I look forward to going their again and again when the weather just doesn't allow us to be outside enjoying the weather.

First we hit up Baby Story Time.

I always like going to things like this because it allows Roarke to get around other kids and experience things with different people besides just me.

Then we went to read some books in the children's section!

And spent some time making new friends!

I even had some fun building block towers for Roarke to knock down seconds later.

Once we got in the car it was only a matter of seconds before the R-man was knocked out in the back seat! Gotta love places that do that to your kids!

Mileage Monday

Running stats for the week of July 18th - July 24th... I didn't do very good on my workouts this week! Mainly because of how hot the weather was. It was pretty much too hot to do much of anything outside. I was even hesitate about having R-man out in the shade. Our air conditioner struggled to keep up trying to cool stuff down. However! I would take this weather over winter any old day! You just can't beat the summer time!

Roarke's 1st Haircut!

When it comes to Dan and his monthly haircuts... well he does them himself. He breaks out his clippers and buzz buzz... the hair falls off! I have been DYING to cut Roarke's hair. It drove me crazy how long it was getting and starting to curl out in all directions. I always had plans to do it ourselves because come on... like I would pay to have a 1 year olds hair cut! So just like his Daddy out came the clippers and soon my sweet baby was transformed into a little boy!

Roarke was a little trooper up until the end. And really the only reason I think he ended up crying was because he was getting restless sitting in the chair. Doesn't he look so grown up now! And I know what you are wondering... did I save a piece of his hair? Seriously... does that sound like something this Mom would do? Nope! It was swept up and thrown out into the backyard for the birds to use to make their nest with!

Exploring Greenfield

We moved to a little town called Wilkinson. Population... 456! Main attractions... the liquor store, post office, and church... oh and Suzy's Pizza! We have neighbors, but mostly the houses are surrounded my farmland! There are two other towns that are the same distance away from us... Greenfield and New Castle. I somewhat know my way around New Castle since I grew up pretty close to it, but Greenfield is a different story. So when Dan's parents came to visit we decided to take a trip and explore our new surroundings!

Truly there wasn't that much to see in the small town, but I immediately loved it because it reminded me of my own hometown. We visited the tiny farmers market, little antique stores, boutiques, Mom and Pop shops, parks, etc. The weather was lovely and we had good company.

The beautiful Greenfield Courthouse! My favorite!

Stopped by a Veterans Memorial Park!

Bruce, Roarke and Dan in front of the Greenfield Line!

Will I venture down that way often... probably not. But it was fun to see what Greenfield has to offer! Plus! Pam bought some homemade apple butter at the farmers market and Roarke is now obsessed with it. We obviously will have to go back to purchase some other flavors!

Hancock County Fair

When you move to an entirely different county it's only right that the first thing you do is attend their fair!

Checking out the Tractors!

Saying HI to the Llama's and giggling at their haircuts!

QUACK!

An elephant ear equals dinner right?

Definitely not as impressive as my beloved Beaver Tails, but it'll do...

More adventures to come!

Mileage Monday

Running stats from the week of July 9th - 17th... I'm finally back! And I'm kicking it into high gear! Better yet... Dan has been working out with me! I really like it because even though he doesn't have as good of endurance as me, he is stronger and faster, which pushes me harder! At the Homestead we have a drive that goes clear around the property. It is .48 miles so I can run around it several times to get my mileage in. I love it! We have also been making up our own Crossfit WOD's to do at home, which has been kicking my butt! I think I'm in good shape because I can run long distances, but throw in sit-ups, push-ups, squats, burpees, etc. in the middle of your workout and dang! It is killer! Feels good to be getting back into shape hopefully!
