Clingman's Dome is the highest point in the park. At the top we were over 6600 ft. It was only 25 degrees up there with 45 mph winds. BRRRR!
One day we got up early to drive the Roaring Fork Trail. Supposedly there have been several bear sightings on this trail recently and we were hoping to see one. Unfortunately we didn't see any bears that day, but we did see a lot of wild turkeys! Its mating season so they were out like crazy!
Another day we drove the New Gap Trail. This day it was much clearer and you could see much farther when you were on the mountain!
The last driving trail we went on was the best! It was called Cade's Cove! You drive clear up the mountain and then back down until you are in a cove area. Its a nine mile loop pretty much through the wilderness. We saw 2 bears that day, several turkeys, and tons of deer! I loved this trail and wish we would have done it first because I would have gone back every day! The deer were very tame... I was seriously 10 feet from one!
This picture cracks me up... if you look closely Remington is actually smiling :)
Are you getting sick of all the pictures yet :)
The best day yet comes tomorrow!
To be continued...

I love your Gatlinburg posts! AWESOME pictures! I love the mountains...my husband and I went to college in Boone, NC which is just a hop away from Gatlinburg. We were only 15 mins from TN. We would drive across the border all the time to get Tennessee moonshine ;) Haha! Which cabins did you stay in?? We are looking at taking a vacation there in August if my husband can get off.
We stayed at a place called Gatlinburg Falls Resort. Lots of cabins to choose from. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the cabins were :)
